  • Fixing/Improving Sleep Schedule

     1. Fix a sleep schedule and stick to it no matter what.


    2. Cut off screen time at least 1 hour before going to bed.

    3. Have dinner at least 3 hours before your bed time.

    4. Avoid eating those meals in dinner that can cause indigestion or bloating.

    5. Don't take tea after dinner.

    6. Take Turmeric Milk(Haldi Doodh) right before going to bed.

    7. Sleep when you actually feel sleepy. Struggling for sleep itself can make you insomniac.

    As I tried my best to make you understand the fact that the thing that matters the most is your caloric intake. If you take more calories than your body's caloric requirement, you’ll definitely gain weight. It's not about what you take, it's all about how much you take. For example, if a person eats fast food items only, he can still manage to stay within his desired caloric range. No doubt, fast food items aren't good for your body. They can cause many others diseases. The point is controlling portion size is the most important. I have literally seen people consuming salads all day long and surprisingly I have witnessed them gaining weight instead of losing. So, tracking macros is very basic and necessary step especially for losing weight.

    Some people specialize in particular areas, such as sports nutrition, public health, or animal nutrition, among other disciplines.

    A dietician is a medically trained professional that alters an individual's diet based on medical conditions, body make up, blood type, or contributing factors affecting the nutrition one receives.

    Although dietitians and nutritionists both help people find the best diets and foods to meet their health needs, they have different qualifications. Dietitians are certified to treat clinical conditions, whereas nutritionists are not always certified.

    A DIETICIAN IS A NUTRITIONIST AS WELL. BUT A NUTRITIONIST CAN NOT BE A DIETICIAN.

  • Servings of Fruits, Vegetables and Dairy

     Following a normal healthy diet, you should make sure to take:

    - 2 to 3 servings of vegetables,
    - 1 to 2 servings of fruits,
    And,
    - 1 to 2 servings of dairy(milk, yogurt, cheese etc) per day.

    Remember that the serving size for fruits and vegetables is about 4 to 6 ounces. It can vary depending upon the size of fruit/vegetable.

    FRUIT SERVING; A standard serving of fruit is about 150g (350kJ).

    VEGETABLE SERVING; A standard serving of vegetable is about 75g (100–350kJ) or: ½ cup cooked green or orange vegetables.

    DAIRY SERVING: A serving of dairy equivalent to a
    - 1 cup serving is 1 cup of skim or 1% milk, yogurt or fortified soy milk;
    - 1.5 ounces natural cheese or 2 ounces processed cheese.


  • Acne and Healthy Diet!

     A lot of people come to me and ask "What should I eat to get rid of my acne?" (Despite the fact that my own skin is acne prone)


    Let me tell you one thing. Healthy diet is a lifestyle modification. If you adapt to healthy eating pattern and it won't make you stay stick to it, then it's in vain.

    Also, eating something doesn't help you get rid of something overnight. For example, for curing acne, it's necessary to turn your lifestyle into a healthy one entirely. Healthy eating, exercising, avoiding fast food, staying away from stressful situations and keeping yourself at peace etc; all these things count to your treatment.

    One of the most important things is to KNOW THE CAUSE of your problem.

    For example, for acne, you should always count on a good dermatologist first to get yourself diagnosed. After that, you can jump to a dietician, yeah.

    Keep yourself hydrated. Half of the issues would be resolved!
